Titanium

Besides regular ASTM specified alloys, we can also provide titanium tantalum alloy, titanium niobium alloy, titanium silver alloy, titanium tungsten alloy and other customized alloys.

High-temperature oxidation of Ti-Ta and Ti-Nb alloys has been studied at concentrations of the second component from 0 to 100 % at temperatures of 600, 800, 1000 and 1200 deg C in air. The dependences of the oxidation degree of the Ti-Nb and Ti-Ta alloys on composition, time and temperature are determined. Doping with tantalum and niobium results in increase of titanium fire resistance particularly at 1000 and 1200 deg C. Titanium was found to considerably affect the oxidation degree of tantalum and niobium in the temperature range of 600-1200 deg C.

Calcium copper titanate (CCTO) is an inorganic compound with the formula CaCu3Ti4O12. CCTO is a kind of ceramic dielectric material with a giant dielectric constant and low dielectric loss. It has a structure derived from the cubic perovskite structure by an octahedral tilting distortion as is GdFeO3.

Calcium copper titanium Oxide (CCTO) is available as a 99.9 pure (metals basis) powder in batch quantities. This material has attracted considerable interest due to its extremely high dielectric constant (literature values reported between 10,000 and 100,000). CCTO has a cubic structure and no known phase changes down to very low temperatures. An additional advantage is that the material is lead-free. These features make CCTO a very attractive option for applications in microelectronics such as capacitors and memory devices. CCTO's high dielectric constant also enhances the possibility of further miniaturization of components. SSC uses an in-house proprietary manufacturing process to produce batch quantities of consistently high-purity low micron or a nano-structured powder.

Titanium metal is silver-grey color and high gloss, the ninth element of the abundance in the earth's crust, and can be found in meteorites. It has a low electrical conductivity and low coefficient of thermal expansion. Since titanium has a great passivity, its physical property is a high level of corrosion resistance to most mineral acids and chlorides. It has mechanical properties such as steel, has a high melting temperature and is light. Since it is highly resistant to corrosion it is applied in the manufacture of propeller shafts and other ship parts that are exposed to seawater. It is non-toxic, nonmagnetic and antiallergenic, biologically compatible with human tissue and bone, which makes it an ideal material for medical implant products. Titanium, together with metals like aluminium, chromium, iron, molybdenum, tin, vanadium, zinc and others, forms various alloys of physical, chemical, structural and specific properties of different hardness, strength, toughness, corrosion-resistance, oxidation and other necessary requirements.

Titanium is widely used as a material for various chemical reaction vessels and heat exchangers due to its excellent corrosion resistance, but its disadvantage is its high cost. This problem is particularly prominent when it is used as a structural component. An effective solution is to use a titanium steel composite plate. The composite material of titanium and ordinary steel is called a titanium steel composite material, which has both the corrosion resistance of titanium and the strength of ordinary steel plate as a structural material. It is important that the cost is also greatly reduced.

Titanium clad carbon steel combines the titanium and carbon steel materials through the explosion and rolling process. The titanium and titanium alloy cladding make the metal plate more resistant to corrosion, abrasion, high temperature and high pressure.
